Our Passion for Cigars, Your Ultimate Experience

It all started at eight years old. Kayla set up her first lemonade stand, serving fresh lemonade and fudge popsicles on the corner outside of her house. That summer, there was an influx of construction due to a housing development in the neighborhood, creating a large demand for her refreshing creations. From this, Kayla developed a passion for customer service.

When she was 15, she became a lifeguard and swim instructor. These skills sharpened her love of learning and sharing information with others. Throughout life, she has sought to gain knowledge through traditional educational programs as well as non-conventional forms—such as travel, culture, and documentaries. Kayla holds a firm belief that we can all learn from each other.

Her interest in cigars began on her 18th birthday when her brother gifted her the first cigar she would try—a grape-flavored swisher sweet from the local convenience store. Although it wasn’t her favorite, we all start somewhere. Quickly transitioning to classics such as Romeo y Julieta and Arturo Fuente, a love for cigars was born.

As a bartender, Kayla thrived on the history and science behind cocktails and spirits. She’s spent years discovering new blends, pairings, and flavors. Like all things, she found passion in sharing this knowledge with others. Soon, she began dabbling in mixing her love of cigars with the craft of bartending. Working at several locations that offered spirits and cigars, she landed at The Chamber at 9900 in Portland following the pandemic. It was here that she discovered a demand for a knowledge-based approach in the area.

Thus, Luxury Shenanigans was born. The name, which began as a joke, describes what Kayla wishes to exemplify in a company: a carefully curated line of offerings in a space that is relaxed and playful. Luxury Shenanigans encourages indulgence in this finite time while reminding us to remain mischievous and whimsical.
